Simplified Procedure |
This is a mandatory system for all claims under $ 50 000.00: it
is available to claims over $ 50 000.00 provided the defendant does not object to using
the simplified procedure.
Simplified Procedure is intended to reduce the cost of
litigation, mainly by eliminating examinations for discovery (depositions in the U.S.A.).
Additionally, rather than having a full trial, it is possible to have a Simplified Trial
where the parties submit their evidence in affidavit form and cross-examinations are
limited to 30 minutes per witness.
This procedure is excellent for all collection actions.
